Steps to Apply

Prepare to Apply

Confirm you are eligible to apply and review our Application Guide for details on what the application includes and how to prepare.

Nominate an Educator

Select a trusted adult from your school to serve as your Educator Scholar. Selected Educator Scholars will partner with you through the yearlong program and support the launch of their Community Change Project.

Work on Your Online Application

Provide information about yourself, your school, classes you’ve taken and extracurricular activities you’re actively engaged in. Include contact information for your educator nominee, who will complete a recommendation form that is part of your application.

Submit Video and Written Essays

Share your story and leadership experience in a self-recorded video and three short essays. Explain what inspires you to want to become a Bezos Scholar and how you’re creating positive change in your community.

Submit and Celebrate

A finished application requires intentional effort, thoughtfulness, and perseverance, and is a huge accomplishment. Celebrate with those who supported you throughout the application process!

The Bezos Scholars Program firmly believes in equal opportunity and values the importance of each person as an individual. Read our full Equal Opportunity Statement.
